March 15 technology showcase
this one looks to be fun. I will be there.
Martin: On March 15 the Northwest Entrepreneur Network is holding its Technology Showcase, featuring 35 to 40 disruptive technologies from 9 Northwest research institutions. The full description of the event is below. If you know of entrepreneurs who should be attending this event to find their next cool piece of technology, please forward them this email. You’re welcome to attend as well, of course. With this many technologies in town, we want to make sure we have a good turn-out! Connie

From Start to Success
More than $2
BILLION a year is spent on research at
Pacific Northwest universities and institutions.
Come see some of the results of that research investment on March 15, 2005. At the Northwest Entrepreneur Network’s 2005 Technology Showcase & Networking Night, you’ll see 35 to 40 licensing-ready technologies that have tremendous start-up potential. These “up-start” technologies—in biotech, drugs/medical devices, information technology, and material sciences—represent a leap in innovation and vision.
It takes a creative and experienced entrepreneur to imagine the product platforms, build out the management team, sell the concept to investors, and bring these technologies to market.
What will we be showcasing? Here’s a sample:
- University of Washington (heart monitor, tissue engineering)
- Washington State University (Piezoelectric microengines)
- Pacific Northwest Research Institute (genotyping for disease prediction, diabetes treatment)
- Pacific Northwest National Laboratory/Battelle (transgenic plants, magnetic resonance spectroscopy)
- University of British Columbia (scodaforesis, wideband antennas)
- Simon Fraser University (microfluidic device, photochromic polymers)
- University of Victoria (network security)
- Oregon Health & Science University (drug therapies, video sensor software)
- University of Idaho (neural networks, immune stimulants)
How long would it take—and how much would it cost?—for you to go to all these research institutions to see these same technologies? On March 15, we make it easy for you.
